Glove Work Needs to Improve

Both Pennsylvania teams are in the bottom half of the league. The Philadelphia Phillies are 16th out of 30 on the list with 0.526 average errors per game. The Pittsburgh Pirates are deeper down the list in the 25th spot at 0.583.

Last season, the Pirates (76-86, .469) finished with the most wins since 2018 (83-79) and increased their win total by 14 games from 2022 (62-100). The Phillies (90-72) recorded the most victories since 102 wins in 2011 and have increased their win total by eight (2021, 82-80) and three (2022, 87-75). That might be the reason they have been contenders in the National League and have made the playoffs over the last two seasons.
